Digital Transition and IIoT 4.0 / 5.0

DIGITAL TRANSITION AND IIOT 4.0

I support companies and professionals in designing new working methods related to digital transition dynamics and cutting-edge technologies integration in the industrial field (IIoT and Industry 4.0 / 5.0):

  • Validated technical reports and professional appraisals on incentives related to Industry 4.0 (Legge 232/2016, Annexes A and B);
  • Advanced integration of Digital Factory and Digital Twin systems for plant design and/or industrial revamping;
  • Conformity assessment of autonomous and/or collaborative cyber-physical systems (CPS) in relation to EU regulations (New Machinery Regulation and provisions on Artificial Intelligence);
  • SCADA and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) systems analysis aimed at optimizing ERP/MRP management systems;
  • Activities remotization procedures planning and onboarding in smart-working mode;
  • Data management and dematerialization by EDM systems.

   As a digital innovation specialist and as like as a member of the GdL Industry 4.0 of the Order of Engineers of Milan, the analysis of technologies and the different levels of interconnection related to Industry 4.0 / 5.0 are part of my professional skills. Would you like more information on this?

  Smart Working and Digital Remotization

SMART WORKING AND DIGITAL REMOTIZATION

  September 26, 2023, 09:00 - 12:00 AM

In the evolution towards the so-called "smart society", smart working and digital remotization are still trapped in a gray area that leaves many doubts, especially in terms of occupational safety. On September 26th I had the opportunity to deepen this theme during a FAD seminar held in collaboration with FOIM.

  Industrial Plant Engineering and Laser Scanning

INDUSTRIAL PLANT ENGINEERING AND LASER SCANNING

By Alessandro Negrini | September 07, 2023

Laser scanning technologies have a consolidated history and a remarkable application evolution, but the last decade in particular has been accompanied by an optimization of hardware and processes that offered a new impetus to a sector traditionally focused on topographic and architectural scope.

  The Art of Intrusion

THE ART OF INTRUSION

By Alessandro Negrini | May 11, 2023

To date, it still makes sense outlining a clear boundary between the different meanings we give to the word "safety", or it would be more appropriate to recognize that the impact of the digital transition makes such a separation increasingly indistinct and that the same resources are exposed – once again time – to multiple threats, not least those posed by a mix of social engineering and cybercrime?

To deepen this theme, today I recommend the two volumes "The art of hacking" and "The art of deception", both by the programmer (and ex-hacker) Kevin Mitnick (Feltrinelli, 2003-2006), works by now mature from a purely technical point of view of modern cybercrime, but undoubtedly valuable as regards the logic that must guide, upstream, the process of criticalities analysis and proactive management of security in the IIoT 4.0 environment.

This is to remind us that the much coveted "interconnection requirement" is still a two-way street and anyone who does not check in at the door risks finding themselves unwelcome guests in their own home.

  ICT and Industrial Plant Engineering

ICT AND INDUSTRIAL PLANT ENGINEERING: AN ESSENTIAL COMBINATION

By Alessandro Negrini | March 08, 2023

Digital transition also plays a driving role regarding plant engineering, especially in Oil & Gas sector: nevertheless, it is interesting to point out the limits and bias characterizing, to date, ICT applied to integrated engineering.

  The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

THE ETHICS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

By Alessandro Negrini | March 15, 2023

Today I recommend you "The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence" written by the philosopher and essayist Luciano Floridi (Raffaello Cortina Editore, 2022), a rigorous and (in my opinion) indispensable work to begin to understanding the many aspects that characterize the world of artificial intelligence starting from the basic distinction between imitative and cognitive systems.

Through a clear and methodical approach, the author goes into the merits of the developments, opportunities and challenges related to a technology that, to date, has reached a critical passage such as to impose ethical and social choices for the future.

In short, an greatly interesting reference and, above all, a valid alternative to the today's "parlor chatter" about AI and machine learning.

  IIoT 4.0 and Revamping

IIOT 4.0 AND REVAMPING

  January 26, 2023, 10:00 - 13:00 AM

Talking about IIoT 4.0 also means looking at the enhancement of existing technical resources (revamping) as well as the construction of a new type of welfare based on occupational safety. On January 26th I had the opportunity to present my point of view on this subject during a FAD seminar in collaboration with FOIM.

  Laser Scanning and Integrated Design

LASER SCANNING AND AND INTEGRATED DESIGN

By Alessandro Negrini | January 30, 2023

Although laser scanning technologies have a consolidated history behind them, the last decade has been accompanied by the optimization of activities and processes that have been able to offer a new impetus to a sector traditionally linked to topographic and architectural survey, also affecting integrated engineering with particular regard to revamping and regulatory adaptation of resources otherwise destined for disposal.
